bugfix usage of isnan(): it requires a float or double argument and
this was never the case in many places in the midi library. With
fedora 24 and the new gcc compiler 6.XXX this resulted in an compiler

2008-06-24 --------  This recipe derives the 2D profile of the spectral dispersed signal in
                     the SCI_PHOT and HIGH_SENS mode. It combines a set of
	             AOPEN and BOPEN photometry files with the following

	             a second pass the standard deviation is recalculated

	             standard-deviation) are set to zero. Please note,
	             that the <threshold> variable can be set as a recipe
	             option in sigma units. Finally the integral of the
	             profile perpendicular to the dispersion direction is

The package is prepared for a standard DMD/DFS environment and may
be installed on the following platforms:

    Solaris
    Linux
    HP-UX


                     INSTALLATION
                     ============
The following instruction relates to a non-ipip installation. For
ipip mode of installation please refer to the file INSTALL.PARANAL

To install this software carry out the following procedure:

1)  Mount CD_ROM device on your system. If you encounter problem
    see your system dministrator.
   
    % cd_mount
   
2)  Move into the CD_ROM device directory where all the files are
    % cd /cdrom
 
3)  Execute the following program:
    % ./setup.sh arg1 [arg2]

    where 
          arg1 = -i (for an interactive installation) or an absolute path name
                 specifying the installation directory.
          arg2 = an optional argument which has no effect in this release
                 of installation

Installation time is platform dependent and to install all features can
take up to 30 minutes on slow platforms. Installation routine will also 
setup all the necessary links on your platform.

Installation procedure has two modes, interactive and non-interactive.
If interactive mode is chosen then the user has the option of choosing 
a relative home directory for the installation as well as choosing to 
install the FITS viewer application software. The default name for the 
installation home directory is DRS. The installation program will install 
the software in the following directory:

    $HOME/<INSTALLATION_DIR>/<RELEASE>

where <INSTALLATION_DIR> is for example DRS and <RELEASE> is
the release name.

If the above directory exists the program prompts the user to either
remove or to backup the existing installation.

The program keeps the user informed of the installation progress and
will terminate the procedure upon the first occurence of an error.
A log file, setup.log, is also created in the following directory:
    $HOME/<RELEASE>_log/

When the installation is completed successfully the user may wish to
carry out the following tests as described below using sample data and
simple shell scripts.


                          TESTS
                          =====

1) Main Applications
--------------------
In order to test the main MIDI program, carry out the following procedure:

Copy your MIDI test data (<YOUR_DATA>) into the following directory:
    cp <YOUR_DATA> $HOME/<INSTALLATION_DIR>/<RELEASE>/drs-LdV/SampleData/
	
Move into the relevant main application directory and execute the relevant
shell script.

    % cd $HOME/<INSTALLATION_DIR>/<RELEASE>/drs-LdV/DataReduction
    % ./testMidiDataReduction.sh

In order to use the application program correctly execute the following command
which illustrates the usage of this application

    % ./midiDataReduction -h

2) FITS Viewer
--------------
In order to view the result of the above tests or indeed to view
any FITS files enter the following command:

   % fv -cmap 2 &


3) Separate Compilation
-----------------------
After a successful installation an authorised user can edit source code, compile 
and build the application software. For more information see next section
