Monthly report for February 1999 by Christian A. Hummel: Hummel completed the first part of an IDL based version of the NPOI data reduction software OYSTER (currently running under PV-WAVE). This part comprises all non-GUI routines. (Significance: IDL has a wider user base than PV-WAVE. An IDL version of OYSTER could be installed on Lowell computers, on USNO's gemini, and be used for testing at NRAO. Currently, only IDL is fully compatible with Linux 5, installed on gemini.) Hummel, in collaboration with Hajian and Forveille (University of Grenoble), submitted a proposal to the Observatoire de Haute-Provence to obtain radial velocities of some well observed binaries of the Mark III and NPOI programs.
