Monthly report for October 2002 by Christian A. Hummel: Hummel reduced 12 nights of NPOI data; 4 nights astrometry tests, 5 on Cepheid diameters, and 3 engineering tests. He analyzed all astrometric tests and the two engineering tests related to astrometry, and posted the results on the internal NPOI web page. Hummel implemented a new bias correction option in CONSTRICTOR which allows fits to unused fringe frequencies as a way to interpolate the bias for the signal fringe frequencies. Hummel switched to the Pickles spectrum library for use in OYSTER, which improved the reliability of the photometric analysis of 6-station NPOI data. Hummel finished the final version of the Eta Vir paper and submitted it to the Editorial Board. Hummel analyzed statistical properties of complex visibilities in NPOI data and submitted, after discussion with T. Pauls and D. Mozurkewich (both NRL), a recommendation to the Interferometry Data Format Forum as to the best format for storing these quantities.
