During the first week of the fourth quarter of 1995, I prepared my talk for the binary star conference in Thailand (see below), and reviewed the first draft of a paper by a colleague, A. Quirrenbach. I was on vacation October 7 through 14. I traveled to Chiang Mai, Thailand, October 19 to November 4, 1995, in order to attend the Third Pacific Rim Conference on Recent Developments in Binary Star Research. At this conference, I gave a talk on Long Baseline Interferometry on Close Binaries. I prepared a four-page camera-ready manuscript for the proceedings. I finalized the orbit of the spectroscopic binary Eta Pegasi, derived from data obtained with the Mark III interferometer on Mt Wilson. In collaboration with Deane Peterson of SUNY at Stonybrook, we observed this star, together with Pi Andromedae, Beta Trianguli and 113 Herculis, with the spectrometer of the Solar Tower at Kitt Peak on 14 nights. From December 4 to 8, I visited D. Peterson in order to get assistance in the reduction of the spectra using the IRAF software. While at Stonybrook, I also gave a seminar on Imaging with Interferometers. I continued the reduction of the spectra after returning to DC. I spent some time looking at raw data produced with the NPOI in Flagstaff to help with the development of the raw data recording facilities and debugging of post-processing software (e.g. CONSTRICTOR). I was on vacation December 15 through 28 during which I visited colleagues at the MPIfR in order to work on the paper on the quasar 0153+744. I am planning to attend the 187th meeting of the AAS in San Antonio, TX, in January 1996, and to present a poster on "A precessing radio jet in quasar 0153+744".
