Monthly report for September 1998 by Christian A. Hummel: CAH added Legendre polynomials to the choices of fitting functions in OYSTER and also added a new phase calibration method. The code was also worked over for improved integration of modeling and calibration, and widget layout. CAH implemented a bias correction for the squared visibility amplitude in the averaging routine in OYSTER, based on data taken with NPOI of an incoherent light source. The remaining systematic errors are less than 0.2%. CAH prepared materials for his talks at the workshop on optical/IR interferometry to be held in Flagstaff, totaling about two hours.
