==> DFS COMPONENT NAME: P2PP ==> DFS COMPONENT RELEASE NUMBER: 2.2.3 ==> DFS RELEASE TYPE: major ==> DELIVERED BY: uss ON: 15-Feb-02 ==> MAIN REASON OF THE DELIVERY: This is the official P2PP V.2.2 release. ==> DEADLINE FOR DELIVERY TO USERS: 15-Dec-2001 ==> CONFIGURATION REQUIRED FOR INTEGRATION TESTS: Standard P2PP test plan. ==> LIST AND LOCATION OF SPECIFIC TEST DATA TO BE RETRIEVED AND USED FOR INTEGRATION TESTS: N/A ==> POINTS ALREADY CHECKED DURING UNIT TESTS: ==> POINTS TO BE CAREFULLY CHECKED DURING INTEGRATION TESTS: ==> COMPLETE LIST OF ACTION ITEMS/PROBLEMS REPORTS ADDRESSED BY THIS RELEASE: * [1663] Fixed bug: Instrument names with a period char, like "CES3.6" were not correctly handled. ==> COMPLETE LIST OF ACTION ITEMS/PROBLEMS REPORTS WHICH ARE NOT SOLVED YET: * This version of P2PP does not deal in a completely safe way with cases where an OB is created with one version of an Instrument Package, and reviewed with a different version -- this is known as the 'IP versioning' problem. A specific consequence: execution times will not be computed correctly if constant parameters have changed; i.e., parameters with a "VALUE" TSF keyword. * File->RefreshTargetObjectData should ignore checked-in OBs and Calibration Blocks. * [1515] This version of P2PP will report an obscure error message in the rare case an OB was queued for execution, but its status is still "Defined". The message is something like ""Dependant foreign key constraint violation..." -- if this happens, please contact the User Support Group (usg@eso.org). * [1575] It may happen, for unknown reasons that an instrument's "summary.idx" file is empty. Symptom: no templates are available for that instrument. Workaround: delete the empty summary file, and restart P2PP. The file will be recreated automatically. * In P2PP or OT one may have noticed the occational stack trace when changing user and/or exiting windows. The stack trace appears as follows: java.lang.NullPointerException at javax.swing.KeyboardManager.unregisterMenuBar(KeyboardManager.java:312) at javax.swing.JMenuBar.removeNotify(JMenuBar.java:647) at java.awt.Container.removeNotify(Container.java:1260) at javax.swing.JComponent.removeNotify(JComponent.java:3186) This bug is a Swing bug, which was fixed in Jan 1999, available from Java 1.2 onwards. It has no effect on the operation of the P2PP or OT applications. * Other P2PP problem reports: active... http://www.eso.org/~uss/ohs/jp2pp/P2PP-bugs.html ...and suspended: http://www.eso.org/~uss/ohs/jp2pp/P2PP-suspended.html ==> LIST AND ISSUE OF UPDATED DOCUMENTS: None. ==> ADDITIONAL COMMENTS: None. $Id: SEG-RELEASE-NOTES-p2pp,v 1.11.2.2 2002/02/15 12:51:40 amchavan Exp $
