Installing PHRS v71

1. Change directory to where you want to install the PHRS system.

2. If in that directory there is no sub-directory called phrs-data, you'll need to create one according to the specification document.

3. Retrieve the PHRS v71 delivery package

4. If necessary, retrieve the Tcl/Tk and Java binary packages for Solaris into the same directory:
   
   • Tcl/Tk 7.3
   • Tcl/Tk 7.6
   • Java 1.1.8

5. At this point you should have several gzipped tar files in your current directory.
   Execute:
       gunzip -c phrs-71.tar.gz | tar xovf -
    cd phrs-71
    setenv PHRS $PWD
    make



   This will create and populate a directory called phrs-71

Running PHRS v71

• PHRS should point to the directory where you installed the system: for instance

  setenv PHRS $HOME/phrs-71

• DSQUERY should be the name of the database server you want to connect to: for instance

  setenv DSQUERY PROBS

• PATH should contain $PHRS/bin; for instance:

  setenv PATH $PATH":"$PHRS/bin

• if you want to run the Long-Term Scheduler the LISP shell variable should be correctly set.
  The Long-Term Scheduler needs a full Allegro Common Lisp installation on the same host. This environment variable should be set to the pathname of the installation directory, like /usr/local/acl4.3. If LISP is not set or it is empty, then the LTS will not be available.

Starting PHRS with:
PHRS: /home/users/amchavan/work/phrs-66.0
... more lines ...

by which you can verify if the shell variables are properly set.
