Establish the latest CLEAN model and compute its UV representation. EXAMPLE ------- 0>keep Computing UV representation of latest clean model (91 components) The established model now contains 182 components and 8.18052 Jy 0> All but the first line are responses from the 'keep' command. CONTEXT ------- During mapping, two separate CLEAN models are kept. These are the "established model" and the "latest clean model". The former is subtracted from the visibilities during invert and is kept both as a model component list AND as model visibilities in the UV plane. The latter - the latest clean model - is the model that has been accumulated by CLEANing since the last time that 'keep' was run. Also if a model is read from an external file using the 'rmodel' command then it replaces the latest clean model and deletes the established model. The latest clean model is added in to the established model and converted to its UV representation every time that the 'keep' command is called. There is rarely a need to do this explicitly, since commands that require the UV representation of the complete model, call 'keep' for you. Such commands include 'invert', 'selfcal' and 'vplot'. However, if you just keep cleaning the residual map without calling any of these other commands then to remove aliased artifacts it may be desireable to call the 'keep' command explicity once in a while. A separate UV plane representation of the established model is kept for each IF, in the uvmodel.scr scratch file, and automatically paged in and out by difmap as required. RELATED COMMANDS ---------------- clrmod - Used to clear one or more of the established, tentative and continuum models.
