1 Description ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Panel for the choice of the aperture to be synthesized K. Bouyoucef 29-March-1998 ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This panel is intended to allow one to choose an objective for the aperture to be synthesized. The two parameters controlling this choice are multiplicative factors applied to the major and minor axis of a default ellipse computed by an automatic procedure. This ellipse defines the aperture to be synthesized. The information provided to guide this choice is the gridded experimental aperture (uv coverage). The left part is the number of visibilities in each uv cell. The right one is the weight associated to each uv cell. One can modify the ellipse by changing the values of the multiplicative factors to apply on the minor and major axis through the two sliders. And then press the "GO" button to validate the choice. The optimal angle (direction) of the ellipse will be determined automatically to minimize the amount of interpolation to be performed in the uv plane. Active Buttons: --------------- GO Updates the choice of the aperture to be synthesized (ellipse). ABORT Destroys this panel. HELP The button you have just pressed. Inputs: ------- 2 WIPE_AX "major axis multiplicative factor" Multiplicative factor to apply on the major axis of the default ellipse defining the aperture to be synthesized. 2 WIPE_AY "minor axis multiplicative factor" Multiplicative factor to apply on the minor axis of the default ellipse defining the aperture to be synthesized. 2 WIPE_THETA "rotation angle" Rotational angle to apply on the default automatic computation of the aperture to be synthesized. This angle varies between -90 and +90 degrees. It follows the triginometric convention. 1 END
