This button is used to destroy that window. It is important that OpenWindows users utilize this button instead of using the OpenLook @b menu item. The latter will close the entire ASSIST application, i.e., it will bring down the ASSIST. Instead of closing a window, you might "iconify" it by pressing the mouse in the square symbol in the upper left corner of the window. This will make the window disppear off the screen into a much smaller "icon" (or into the icon manager for some window managers). Pressing on the iconified window will re-display it. This can often save time and space when accessing many windows.
