You must have X windows running in order to run any X program, including
ASSIST.  To start X, a command such as @b<startx> is usually executed:

> startx

See your site administrator for more details.

Once X is running, ASSIST can started by executing the command:

> assist [command options]

There are several command-line options that allow one to specify which
windows to bring up when the ASSIST is executed. To learn more about
