@b<This window tells you about the main displays of files and directories in XDir.>

The XDir directory and file displays contain the directories and files
that match the current template in the current directory.  These
displays have the following attributes:

@b<Directory Display> @break
- Sub-directories of the current directory are displayed in long
or short form in a list, depending on the value of the
@b<Long Disp>/@b<Short Disp> command toggle. @break
- Clicking the left mouse button on an entry in the list will
select that file name (if @b<Auto CD> is on) or the full pathname (if @b<No Cd> is on).
The selection can be pasted into another window (usually with the middle button). @break
- Clicking the right mouse button will make that directory the current directory.

@b<File Display> @break
- Files in the current directory are displayed in long or short form in a list. @break
- Clicking the left mouse button on an entry in the list will select that file
name (if @b<Auto CD> is on) or the full pathname (if @b<No CD> is on).
The selection can be pasted into another window (usually with the middle button). @break
- Clicking the right mouse button will bring up a window containing
the text of the file (no window is brought up for binary files). The
file can be edited using emacs-style keystrokes by toggling the
@b<Read-Only/Edit> button on the text display window.
