Its function is to display the list of files that match a template filter in a specified directory. The XDir display contains 4 logical sections: * a command box for standard commands @break * a set of accelerator commands for user-specified @break directories and templates @break * a display of the "current directory" name and @break "current template" string @break * a display of directories found in the @break current directory @break * a display of files found in the current @break directory To learn more about the standard XDir commands: @button To learn more about user-defined accelerator directories and templates: @button To learn more about the current directory and template: @button To learn more about the directory and file displays: @button Normally, XDir is started when you start ASSIST, unless you specify the "-noxdir" command switch. You can also start XDir from within ASSIST. There is a command button in the "Host One-Liners" leaf of the top-level tree that will start up XDir. Note that when XDir starts, it will ask you to click the mouse in the window to which it should send 'cd' commands. This can be the IRAF window or an xterm, etc.
