@node Box, Break, Axis, Commands @iftex @syntax Box. @end iftex @example Syntax: BOX [ INTEGER1 INTEGER2 [ INTEGER3 INTEGER4 ] ] @end example @pindex Box @findex axes, drawing BOX puts axes around the plot region, labelling the lower and left according to the values set by LIMITS and TICKSIZE. If arguments @code{INTEGER1} and @code{INTEGER2} are included (default 1 and 2) they are used as @code{ILABEL} arguments for the lower and left axes (see AXIS). An @code{ILABEL} of 0 means to omit axis labels, 1 produces labels parallel to the axis, 2 perpendicular, 3 omits both labels and tickmarks, and 4 omits the axis entirely. @code{INTEGER3} and @code{INTEGER4} are used for the top and right axes. If you want to change the font used for axis labels, define the variable @code{default_font}, either interactively (@code{DEFINE default_font oe}), or by putting a line in your @file{.sm} file: @code{default_font oe}. This affects regular as well as axis labels, and only works if you use @code{TeX_strings}, which we recommend anyway. @findex axes, font used @findex .sm, default_font See @ref{Notation} if you want to control the use of floating point or exponential notation, and some details on how to draw exponents.
